All of our inspections are carried out in accordance with the Australian Standard AS3660.2. It is recommended that inspections be carried out at least once a year.
There are 2 types of inspections available as follows:
Surface Inspection
A surface inspection is applicable to all homes and will cover all accessible areas such as roof voids and the internal and external of the property. A report is compiled highlighting any termite activity or damage found. It will also make reference to conditions that make your home more favourable to termites eg poor drainage, plumbing leaks, garden timbers etc. It may also include any treatment recommendations and signs of previous treatments. Depending on the construction type of your home a more invasive inspection may be recommended.
Surface- Subfloor Inspection
A surface-subfloor inspection is applicable to most timber floored homes covering all the aspects of a surface inspection but also includes the under floor of your home or what is commonly known as the subfloor. This area can be viewed by lifting or cutting of inspection points or utilising the latest in optic fibre boroscope technology. The boroscope method is more favourable to polished floors as it does not require cutting inspection points. Instead holes the size of a 5 cent piece will be drilled in the corners of rooms and then plugged with a colour matched timber dowel on completion.
